2013 Phonathon!
This year’s band Phonathon will be Monday, January 21 and Wednesday, January 23 starting at 6:30. It’s a great opportunity to hear what the bands are up to from current members (are they still singing about YOU?) and pledge what support you can. So put away those caller ID boxes, and answer your phones!
If you would like to donate to the Big Red Marching Band and know the specific amount that you would like to give, please email our Head Manager, Shelby Hulett. Dear Former Big Red Bands members, family and friends,
After lots of planning, meetings, and excitement, it’s finally time for a moment many of us have been waiting for--the university is ready to break ground for our new Big Red Bands practice facility!
The festivities start at 10am September 22nd, when band alumni will meet at Kite Hill and follow the band as we march up to the site of the new facility. The groundbreaking will run from 10:30 to 11am.
Following the groundbreaking, we'll have a special catered tailgate under an extra large tent on Kite Hill until kickoff at 1pm. Because we want to be able to provide enough food and drink, we ask that you let us know if you’re coming by completing the registration form here. The cost for our special tailgate celebration is $10 per adult and children under 21 are free.
For those of you who were at Homecoming last year, you know how much it has grown, and it promises to be even bigger this year. Kite Hill will be the center of activity, with a Ferris wheel, grape stomping, face painting, and all kinds of other activities, so bring your entire family.
The band has reserved limited space at Ramada Inn at the Ramada (607-257-3100) and the Econo Lodge (607-257-1400). Ask for the Big Red Band Block. If you have any questions about marching with the Alumni Band, please email Alumni Relations Co-Chair Christian Compton ’14 at cbc74@cornell.edu.
